Europe Seals since many years has a "focus strategy" to develop the best possible Rubber Materials used for (Drinking) Water/Heating equipment.

The main Target was to develop rubber materials which can cover the approval demands Globally. Our premium choice of material has been EPDM Peroxide cured in the most used Hardness 70 Sh.

The reason to target on this material has been because many leading companies in the Industry has been walking away from the common used NBR 70 material for several reasons:

• EPDM Peroxide Cured has much better life time expectations
• Higher maximum Temperature 150 C°

Europe Seals has succeeded to develop a "State of the Art" EPDM Peroxide Cured compound with almost all possible International approvals.
Our EPDM 70 Sh "Multi Approval" compound has the following approvals:

• KTW warm and cold for the German Market
• Wras (Wrc) high Temp 85 C° U.K Market
• NSF 61 U.S.A., Canada and Australian Markets
• EN 681-1 general approval European Markets
• W534 (Special German approval to assure long Life Time)
• W270 (Special drinking water approval for Germany)
• UL water approval
  
  On top this compound is compliance to the FDA regulations

Of course Europe Seals still has other materials like NBR 70 with several water approvals in Program.
Also we do have an EPDM Peroxide Cured with the French ACS Approval.
 
Life Time Test DVGW  W534
 
For High quality Water and Heating equipment manufacturers it is very important to
get a good reliable impression about the expected O Ring life time in their products.
 
The normal Rubber Material Datasheets only show basic properties, based on short term
test made on Rubber Test Slabs not on finished products! (O Rings)
These general Material Datasheets are OK for just comparison between different materials, but
not sufficient to get a good idea about the performance in the equipment.
(As Water and Heating Customers do not use ""Test Slabs""  for 24 or 70 hours in their products,
but O Rings for a long garanteed life time!!!)
 
DVGW has developed an additional  test W534 to predict life time expectation for O Rings
(Compressionset ( rubber Memory) Tests are made on real O Rings up to 5000 hours at 110 °C in Water !!!   Not on Test Slabs 24 or 70 Hours
at 70 °C (Sulfer Cured Epdm) in Air)
 
Leading Water/Heating companies has recognised this standard as a "'must"' and not only have
changed from low quality materials NBR and EPDM Sulfer Cured but to the premium quality
EPDM peroxide cured meeting the W534 DVGW standard
 
Europe Seals Multi Approval EPDM has passed the W534 tests successfully!
(Some Sulfer EPDM rubber materials are already on Compressionset Values
at 40-45 % after only  70 hours at 100 °C in Air)
